Permissions guidelines

In DMS permissions are assigned via set groups based on job roles, if you require permissions that wouldn’t be specific to one role reach out to your line manager and escalate this to the service desk manger.

To ensure the team can action your request quickly please provide a colleague who has the permissions you need and the authorising line manger

FAQ’S

Q: I’m unsure what permissions I need for the new role, can the service desk team find this out?

A: No, the team will support however it falls to line mangers to advise which permissions are needed for there team. Reach out to them before raising the ticket and they can assist you in finding a college’s name who already has these.

Q: I support another team on a regular basis and need both permissions groups, why can’t this be actioned?

A: DMS only allows one group of permissions to be assigned to a user profile at a time. Reach out to your line manger if a new group needs to be created. They can then escalate this.
