Access Okta
To access External Okta go to https://stepchange.okta-emea.com/ and log in as normal. Once logged in on the App Dashboard you should see the below icon.
In the top right in the new Okta window select Admin and this will request you to sign in again with your set up security question.
Once logged in the dashboard should look like the below.
Checking Client Email
To check if a client’s email is in Okta already copy and paste the email into the search bar at the top and it will populate if this is on the system.
If the email is not in Okta this can be added by Directory > People. The only information we need to add to an account is the email address and check the box ‘Send activation email now’. This will send the client the verification email needed to get onto Pulse.
Okta Status
Locked Out - Can be unlocked in Okta using the below button. This will then mean the client can log in with their password they will have already created.
Staged – the client email can be activated using the below. This will email the client to inform them their account can now be logged into.
Pending User Action – This status means the email is in Pulse, but the client has yet to verify. A new verification email can be set to prompt the client to activate and set up a password. We can also set a temporary password, but this is never used so that the client can set their own password.
Logs
We are also able to see logs for each client to see if there are any issues with trying to log into their system. With the logs we can identify client-based issue, mainly incorrect passwords being input when logging into the system.
Client Group
When creating an account in Okta manually we also have to make sure that the client has Pulse_Clients on their case in order for them to have full access to their account. If they do not have this they will be met with a 403 error stating the app is not assigned.
If this error ever comes through refer to OKTA - Missing Group in order to add this to their account.
