Improving pulse performance

  • Close your browser completely- Ensure all tabs are closed. You can check that Microsoft Edge has fully closed down by right clicking on your windows task bar, selecting task manger and ensuring that it dose not appear in the list. If it dose right click on the name and select end task.

  • Clear your browser cache and history- this can resolve a multitude of performance issues. If your unsure how to do this please follow the article ‘Microsoft Edge - Clearing cookies/permissions and browser history’

  • Restart your laptop – Please also ensure you fully shut down your laptop each night, this can also help improve performance

  • Check your internet connection (if working from home) - It’s worth confirming whether the issue is related to Pulse or your connection speed. Go to www.google .com and search speed test. Please do this on and off the VPN.

  • Check for updates – On your windows task bar search for ‘updates’ and selects the option ‘check for updates’ (shown below)

On the screen that opens click the button on the top right, this may say ‘install’, ‘download &install all’, ‘check for updates’ etc.

Once these are done Scroll down and click on ‘Advanced options’

Then select Optional updates and install any outstanding.

If you’re using a HP laptop you can also search for additional updates after this under the app ‘HP Support assistant’
